What is XTrace ?
XTrace is a vector tracer to convert bitmap pictures (e.g. IFF ILBM files) to vector
pictures (e.g. AI, EPS, FIG, IFF DR2D or DXF files). It offers several operators to
process bitmap and vector pictures and it even supports Bézier curves, XPK,
clipboards, CyberGraphX/Picasso96, etc. As a very special feature, XTrace is able
to save traced pictures as 3-dimensional logo for Michiel den Outer's
"
Navigator Titler"
(Video Titler) and as 3-dimensional DXF files (to load them into raytracers). It is even
able to load and trace Amiga fonts and save them as 3-dimensional fonts for the
"Navigator Titler".
Requirements
XTrace requires an Amiga with at least AmigaDOS 3.0, 5 Mb RAM and a fast processor (>=MC68020 @ 25 MHz) to
work efficiently, but it should even run with 2 Mb RAM and a MC68000. Approximately 2Mb hard disk space is
required for a full installation.

Download / Distribution
XTrace v2.00 automatically detects if you're registered to use it or not.
If you're already registered, i.e. you got a keyfile from the author of
XTrace, its full functionality can be used immediately, otherwise it
works in the unregistered demo mode, i.e. all pictures will be marked
with "DEMO" and there is a short delay after it has been
started.
To install XTrace you'll need at least three archives, the main archive,
one documentation archive and one CPU archive. There are multiple documentation
and CPU archives available. Please choose the required documentation
language and the required CPU version. If you are not sure, which CPU
and possibly FPU you have, just download some or all CPU files. You
might even download multiple documentation archives. The install script
detects which CPU and FPU you've and let you select the documentation
language and CPU version to be installed.
For further information how to install XTrace please read the
ReadMe file "
XTrace_Main.readme"
(it is even included in the main archive).
If you just want to change an installed XTrace v2.00 documentation into another
language, you may download a documentation archive only and install it
using install script located in the Documentation/<Language> drawer.
Hint: Some browsers are unable to detect the file type. If you've one of them, just hold down <Shift> and
left-click the hyperlink to download the file to disk.
Extract all downloaded XTrace archives into the same directory and start
the installer script. The information archives do not have install scripts, they
just contain some text files.
